Welcome to the Harbourne Family:
Genealogy has become my new found passion. The challenges and discoveries have been very exciting. Especially, due to the fact of misspelling or a simple error by someone else in the process of record taking. Then, you come across a connection with meeting someone new on a mailing list or because they have seen your web page and are interested too, and find out that the error is the missing link you've been looking for this whole time, just in the wrong text.
Welcome to the Harbourne Family Page. The family is spread throughout England, I believe, originating in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, to Ireland (Kildare), to Australia, Canada and to the United States. Please, join me in hopefully making the connections we need to trace this wonderful family back to its "origination".
People, please understand as you go through my web pages the information I have on them is open for correction. I will nor would ever give myself enough credit to have ALL the most "definite" information. That is why I have these pages. So you as family members or of the sort can correct and add things as we go along. That to me, is the whole point of making a family tree.
We cannot always rely on records, only because of the misspelling of our name and poor record keeping through the years. And that is meant as NO disrespect to our genealogists that spend many a hours searching records. Because without them we would have only sketches of a lot of our information on so many things.
I have, (since it was brought to my attention once before,) made sure that ANYONE who gives me information is accredited as a source on that information. But you also have to realize, if it is in a record form...it is typed accordingly ...meaning...if you give me information straight from the record files, that is how it will appear on our pages with credit to whom gave me that information. If it is similar to information you had before but was not submitted and I do not give you credit. I am sorry. Credit will go to the one that submitted it first and with the sources to prove their finds. Again, with no disrespect, but I have to give credit where credit is due!
Now, for the rest of us "lay folk" who are just interested in tracing back our family tree and enjoying each other's emails and such...how about we get back to connecting and sharing the info we have and making those puzzle pieces fit.....
My whole point is......... this is to enjoy and make connections....this is NOT life or death but our family tree to trace back our forefathers and ancestors to appreciate who and what we are today and give thanks for everything they struggled for to get where we are. So, please enjoy and PLEASE ALWAYS FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ANY AND ALL MISTAKES! I take them in whole heartedly and appreciatively..so don't be afraid to let me know that D means divorced sometimes and not dead...lol...sorry Kathy (Marie)....have a great time and enjoy our family history as we make it happen......
Harbourne/Harborne/Harborn/Harbon/Harebone/Harburn
These are the variations of the spellings of the Harbourne name. Some changes are due to census takers, bad spellers, some due to being exiled or plain and simple just the family wanting to add a "u" or an "e" or drop the "e", whatever the case may be. I believe, we are all related one way or another.
The information provided in these pages are info that I have discovered through the internet, connecting with others, and various other means.I more than welcome input, corrections and additions whenever needed. The only way to make a accurate family tree is with your help.
