One of the areas I am concentrating on, among many, is the ancestors of Jeffery Harbourne. He married Elizabeth Mulhall in 1805 in Ireland....he had four sons, Jeffery, James(John), Thomas, and George and possibly other children we are unaware of at this point. They emigrated to Canada in, I believe, the latter 1820's.
I would like to find out when and why the family changed the spelling of the name. Did it originate as Harbourne or Harborne.....?????? Is the town of Harborne related to the family? Andrea Barnes has discovered the town in the Domesday book going back to 1086. It seems the family originated in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England then emigrated throughout the world from there.
The spelling and confusing information has made the challenge more difficult to make connections, but with help and information from here and there, I am hoping to get as much information as is out there.
